Kimpton Charlotte Square Hotel

We've truly had a lovely time at the hotel Miguel has given us a very warm welcome, and everyone from housekeeping, spa staff - anyone else we came across was nothing but helpful and kind. The double premium room had a very aesthetically pleasing interior a nice view of the castle and all types of amenities you'd need - even a yoga mat :) It was also very spacious. We didn't get a chance to eat at Baba nor the Garden, but they seemed very popular and again, I really appreciated the aesthetics. We had our pooch with us and the staff were so accommodating and caring - we also got a list of dog-friendly restaurants, which saved us doing our own research. I didn't even mention the obvious advantage - the location. Someone else has pointed out that it's right next to a busy high-street, however the hotel itself has a very tranquil feeling (the Charlotte Gardens just en face may add to it). Overall, we cannot say one bad thing about our stay. I'm very glad we chose this place to celebrate my birthday.

Stopped here for my birthday and absolutely loved it. Hotel is stunning and in a great location. Our room was fabulous we were given a free upgrade. Staff were absolutely amazing and definitely made it a birthday to remember. Will definitely be back. Thank you for an amazing break

Great central location, close to loads of amazing hotspots - everything felt easy to get to. The rooms were cosy, clean, and just what you want after a busy day out. Happy hour for guests was the icing on the cake! But the real standout was the service. Zoe was absolutely brilliant - attentive, supportive, friendly, and genuinely kind. She made us feel so welcome and completely at home from the moment we arrived. Thank you for your warmth and understanding. AJ was also great - helped with our bags and gave us personal recommendations that made the stay feel exciting. Would happily stay here again just for the people alone. Highly recommend!

What a lovely hotel. Extremely attentive and friendly staff who really made us feel welcome. Dave and his colleagues were beyond brilliant. We loved our room which offered a luxury feel bathroom and full of amenities plus a bright red telephone. We used the bar and again, staff beyond any London hotel plus bar snacks were very nice. I noticed 2 bicycles as we entered which I think you could use, going up hill though!, going down, great. Did not use the swimming pool as we didn't have time but we met a few people going down to use. The location is great, walking distance to a good supply of shops and restaurants plus Edinburgh Castle centre view. We would happily stay here again.

Liked our 1 night stay. Nice sizeable room well decorated and comfortable. Clean and good shower. Good facilities. Lacked information in room of restuarant times and checkout times. Friendly welcoming helpful and informative staff. Hotel decoration is interesting but not overpowering. Didn't check out the spa. Only real issue was limited bar menu when we wanted to eat later on. But there are a lot of restaurants nearby.

We thoroughly enjoyed an off season stay at the Kimpton in January this year. We were there for 2 weekday nights. I’m an IHG loyalist and this was our first time at a Kimpton and we were so pleased with our stay. We were upgraded to a larger room with my premier card status and had a nice, roomy room. We also enjoyed the pool and sauna. We didn’t use the gym but saw the facilities and they looked impressive and had some good selections. We were a bit sad the steam room was closed down while there. We also didn’t dine at the restaurants in the hotel but they seemed like solid offerings. We walked by the neighboring street and found some great dining options close by. Overall a great stay. Just wish it was a tad closer to the action but still very walkable.

Family of 5 stayed for 4 days. 2 adults, 3 kids age 6, 9 and 10. Very impressed with the Kimpton and would definitely stay again. Great location backing onto Rose Street, and 5 minute walk to the old town. Rooms were spacious and clean, I loved the coffee machine and well stocked snack box, also the Dyson hair dryer and the yoga mat included was a nice touch. The spa was excellent, lovely dimmed pool lighting and a clean sauna and steam room. The reception staff were all exemplary as were the bar and lounge staff. We enjoyed a light lunch in the garden on our first day, and the lovely american waitress couldnt do enough for us. Luxury and elegance with a touch of Scottish charm, highly recommend. Suitable for a family stay.
